Bihar, already India's most vulnerable state, was the most affected area by the recent floods. Thousand of flood affected families in Bihar district were suffering due to the dearth of drinking water, food, cloths, medicine and shelter. The scale of devastation is enormous, the latest government figures reporting over 15 million individuals affected and over 170,000 homes destroyed in Bihar alone. In response, Al-Hind has launched an emergency intervention in the effected areas of Bihar in the field of :

  • Health & Nutrition
  • Water and sanitation (rehabilitation of hand pumps and construction latrines)
  • Emergency shelter construction,
  • Community infrastructure construction
  • Capacity building on disaster preparedness
  • Hygiene promotion
  • Food Packets distribution etc.
